Gardening

Here are a few pictures of 1 our gardens about a month ago or so. Since we haven't had much rain, it is not doing as well as it could. It looks like rain today, so I'm going to till between the rows....gotta go!

Memorial Weekend Fishing

Above: 15 lb, 8 lb, 5 lb flathead, and a 16 lb blue catfish. Below: 3 smaller blues all caught on limb lines on the Verdigris River. Not a real huge weekend for running lines.

Spring turkey

My oldest son, Devon, took these pictures and I did not get to see them till I had already cleaned the bird. I shot this small Tom before the sun went down. He would not come to our calls, because he had 3 hens with him. A friend of mine and I crawled through a lot of brush and on our hands and knees to get to him. It finally ended at a field's edge with my only cover being 2 small cedars. When he came to about 40 yards, he was starting to get nervous, so I let 'er rip. He started to run and I knocked him down with another shot. 8 in. beard and about 5/8 spurs. Not my biggest bird, but it was my first in about 4 yrs.
