Deck with fancy stairs

I helped Dave Mahlum build a new deck. My boys and I finished the stairs in the rain on a Friday afternoon. We were supposed to hunt that night, but we all opted for a warm shower and relaxing evening at home instead.

Deck with Wheelchair Ramp

This is a deck that I built for my mother-in-law. 8'x8' with steps and a wheelchair ramp.

The Boys' First Deer

Landyn's first deer, a very nice doe. He shot her the night after Devon got his first deer. Papa Carl set them up with a 6mm, had them practice, and made sure they had everything they needed. When Landyn shot his doe, she ran out of the field and into the woods. He immediately started crying because he thought that he missed. I told him it was okay, and we would look for a trail to see if she was hit. We did find a trail, and I told him that I had heard her pile up in the trees. After finding her about 30 yards away, he was pumped! Both deer were about 75-80 yards at the furthest when the boys took them. What a way to start off the season. Youth season hunt 2013.

 This is the "Broken G-2" buck. I shot this buck with a bow but never found him. With help from my wife, our kids, my brother, and my dad, we spent several hours that night and the next day looking for him.
